The Inn

The Ferry Boat Inn - January 2003 - click to enlarge The Ferry Boat Inn dates back over 500 years to either the late 15th Century or early 16th Century. It was originally built as two or possible three cottages. It it not known when it was converted to an inn, but records indicate that it originally formed part of the estates buildings of the owner of the Manor House (or Hall as it was then known).

The bar leading into the conservatory - January 2003 - click to enlarge There is usually a roaring log fire in the main bar during inclement weather. Together with the wealth of old beams and low ceiling, this creates a cosy atmosphere that can only be found in an old English pub.

The Inn is believed to have a poltergeist but, while we have seen some strange things, we are keeping an open mind! Don't worry, all of our quests have left the Inn in one piece!

Ample parking is available. Coach parties are welcome (it would be helpful if you could let us know in advance). Children are also very welcome and can use the family rooms. The large garden is a safe environment where the children can run around and explore.

The Ferry Boat is open every lunchtime from 11.30 to 3 (Sunday 12-4) and every evening except Christmas Day from 7 to 11 (Sunday 7-10.30).
